Egencia Clients Gain Access to Amex GBT Mtgs., Consulting Services

Egencia customers now are able to access the meetings and consulting services of new parent company American Express Global Business Travel.

The move is part of the further integration of Egencia into Amex GBT following the completion of its acquisition from Expedia Group in November 2021.

It gives Egencia’s 9,000-plus customers around the world access to Amex GBT’s meetings and events services, as well as the Global Business Consulting division.

“These M&E and consulting solutions will help build their travel and meeting programs, and this is just one example of how we are converting the value that Amex GBT brings to Egencia into tangible, real-world benefits that drive results for travelers, attendees and the overall business,” Egencia president Mark Hollyhead said in a statement.

The integration comes as Amex Meetings & Events has seen demand for in-person meetings “come back quickly” this year with the number of events expected to continue increasing. This surge in demand and a shortage of staff in the meetings sector is pushing up prices for buyers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Egencia customers can also now access outsourced travel management through Amex’s consulting division, including having outsourced travel managers embedded in their organizations if they need day-to-day support.

“Since Egencia joined GBT, we have been working closely to better understand their specific client needs, where we can provide additional value, and how our combined data and tech development capabilities can offer the best approach to clients in every segment,” Julie Avenel, vice president of American Express Global Business Consulting, said in a statement.
